Bike Patrol

Bike Patrol

Police patrolling areas like downtown and the trails on bike.

Many community policing services provide some type of bike and foot patrol services often assisted by community volunteers and student summer placements. Would encourage police members to engage with the community and develop positive relationships something that has been lacking the last number of years. Citizens engage with people they know and trust and this would be a great opportunity to get officers out from behind their desks and feel more connected to the community they police.

Enforcement of trail etiquette (picking up after dogs, bike speed limits, motorized vehicle use, dogs on leashes, etc.)

A bike patrol (or a foot patrol) downtown would make the downtown area safer and would also allow for more community policing and engagement.
